At our meetings we write for thirty-minute stretches with ten-minute breaks. That's all. Bring your notebook, clay tablet, laptop, whatever you write on. Some write fiction, some write memoir, some write encyclopedia entries. It's up to you. There's no pressure to share or critique, but there are opportunities. We are looking to build a strong group of Poets, Spoken Word Artists, Songwriters and Slam Poets to get a North Jersey Poetry Slam series off the ground. There are three main venues in New York City that push this art form : Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, and LouderArts at Bar 13.
